TAN COLOGNE
Tan Cologne is the music duo of Lauren Green and Marissa Macias based in Northern New Mexico
Tan Cologne released their debut album entitled “Cave Vaults on the Moon in New Mexico” on Labrador Records (Sweden) in 2020. “Cave Vaults on the Moon in New Mexico" was listed as one of Gorilla Vs Bear’s “Favorite Albums of 2020”, Brooklyn Vegan: Indie Basement's Best Albums of 2020, selected as a “Staff Listening Pick” on PASTE Magazine, & more.
Inspired by water and waterways “Earth Visions of Water Spaces”, Tan Cologne’s second album was released by Labrador Records in September 2022. It has been noted as a “low key shoegaze masterpiece” by Electronic Sound Magazine, as well as “one of the most influential records of the year” by Circuit Sweet, and Gorilla vs Bear’s “Best Albums of 2022”.
In September 2023, Tan Cologne released “Pescetrullo (soundscapes)” on cassette via Labrador Records. “Pescetrullo (soundscapes)” is a series of instrumental and field recordings made in the remote architectural installation Pescetrullo in Puglia, Italy.
"Unknown Beyond" surfaced on Summer Solstice 2025. " Tan Cologne has created an immersive, introspective record that slowly reveals itself with each listen. ‘Unknown Beyond’ is a profound, emotional experience…” - James Broscheid | The Big Takeover
Following "Unknown Beyond", their closing track “In Resin” was released as a rework by Danish Artist and Producer Trentemøller.
Tan Cologne just finished their next full length album (TBA)
PRESS /
Electronic Sound: "...technicolour vistas draped in ethereal guitar and kissed by their pristine voices."
FLOOD Magazine: “Cloud of Mirrors” brings to mind an apt image for the feeling it encapsulates: one of an infinite expanse of fog and indistinguishable landscape in all directions."
MOJO Magazine: "...blissful ambient guitar pop with a Mazzy Star like vocal drift..."
Chris Cantalini (Gorilla Vs Bear): “...a beautiful collection of magically transportive, gloriously narcotic dream-pop"
Lizzie Manno (PASTE Magazine): “…it’s a gentle, reverent album that brings you closer to your own consciousness and that of all living and past beings on Earth and far beyond.”
Margaret Welsh (Women In Sound): “…gentle, cooling vibrational energy, which feels both earthy and ethereal.”
